Faith Beyond Walls Prayer
O Holy One,
who has created all humanity and who calls us
to live in harmony and mutual care, we would be
as one people before you.
Let us know that there can be
no understanding where there is mutual rejection.
You have taught us that if we
are open to one another, you dwell in us.
Help us preserve this openness
and to work for it with all our hearts.
Absolve us, we pray, from our
sins of narrowness, neglect, hatred and prejudice.
Forgive our slowness to reach
out to each other with respect and concern.
Restore, we pray, those who
suffer from the inequities of human existence,
who in their days and nights live with fear and
unfilled longings.
Especially bless the children
and their families with health and wholesome environments
in which to live and realize their fullest potential.
May we unite from our diverse
faiths, races and backgrounds to bring an end
to racism, poverty and violence.
We ask you God, to bless Faith
Beyond Walls, that the work of our hands and the
affections of our hearts will prosper for the
good of all and for the realization of your will
for all of your human family.
To you, O God of all, we offer
our prayer, our praise, and our covenant to faithful
service.
Amen.
